Questions, bugs, or a word we missed?
We read every message — whether it's a typo in an entry, a root
you'd like added, or a feature you wish existed.
Common questions
Do I need an internet connection?
No. Word Radicals is entirely offline — every one of the
44,000+ entries is stored on your device. Nothing you look up is ever sent anywhere.
Do I need an account?
No account, no sign-in. Open the app and start searching.
How do I type Greek without a Greek keyboard?
Just type in the Latin alphabet — logos finds
λόγος. Accents and macrons are optional too, so amo finds
amō, and even inflected forms resolve to their dictionary word:
amavit finds amō.
What do the macrons and accents mean?
The bars over Latin vowels (dūcō) mark long vowels,
and Greek accents (λόγῳ) mark pitch and breathing. Word Radicals prints
them on real inflection tables so you learn the correct forms.
How do the flashcards work?
The Study tab teaches the most productive Greek and Latin roots
using spaced repetition: cards you know well come back less often, and ones you're
shaky on return sooner — so the roots actually stick.
